Halo lights are straightforward. Picture where a halo would sit over your head and apply that same shape to the top of your head. The concept is that there appears to be a “halo” of light resting around your head like it would glow outside in the sun or under bright lights.
When talking to your stylist about this method, if you pick to go with it make sure you tell your stylist how light you need it to appear and also how heavy you need it to be. They can generate a very subtle halo by using a smaller amount of hair and control the lightness by the color they pick. If you are going more for the dramatic effect, you can have them take more hair and pick a color that has a greater contrast. You can also ask to have a partial halo. In this case, they would take specific sections around the crown of your head in lieu of doing a whole ring.
Who can get halo lights? Anyone! It doesn’t matter what color your hair was to start with. If you’re a rebel, you can ask for a reverse halo. The stylist can apply the same concept but use a darker color in lieu of the lighter color. It’s a different, but fun, approach to this distinctive process of hair color.
